HealthWorks Rehab & Fitness is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of its Morgantown clinic on Maple Drive by offering a discount on custom foot orthotics. 20 years is a huge milestone for the rehabilitation and fitness facility as well as the organization as a whole, which has provided physical therapy and occupational therapy to West Virginians and Pennsylvanians dealing with pain for over 40 years.

Jack Brautigam, President/CEO at HealthWorks Rehab & Fitness was quoted when discussing the celebration. “We wanted to do something that could commemorate this occasion, and one of the most common causes of pain that we see is foot pain. So we decided to offer a $20 discount on custom orthotics for private pay patients. Hopefully this will encourage our friends and neighbors to take action to relieve the pain they feel in their feet due to foot imbalances.”

Custom orthotics are custom-made orthopedic devices that fit inside your footwear. They are specifically prescribed to the biomechanical and medical needs of the patient to treat or adjust various disorders in the feet and throughout the body.

During standing and walking, our bodies are subjected to the natural forces that can inflict mechanical stress and strain throughout our joints. When foot imbalance is present, there is a negative impact in the knees / hips / back and neck. This imbalance must be removed to achieve improved posture and alignment.

Orthotics correct this imbalance improving the biomechanics of the body, leading to relief of pain throughout the body. The regular price for these custom devices are $266 for private pay patients–this is now marked down to $246.

HealthWorks Rehab & Fitness got its start in 1979 when founders John C. Spiker and Sam Kegerreis saw a need for a sports medicine approach to musculoskeletal injuries with emphasis on a functional return to activity as soon as possible.

One of the earliest challenges HealthWorks faced was keeping up with the demand of fast-growing communities in and around Morgantown. The desire to serve the surrounding communities gave birth to seven satellite offices; the first in Buckhannon, WV (1990), the second in Smithfield, PA (1992), the third in Fairmont, WV (2000), the fourth in Blacksville, WV (2005), the fifth in Cheat Lake, WV (2006), the sixth in Westover, WV (2016), and the newest clinic in Waynesburg, PA (2019).

HealthWorks currently employs a clinical and fitness staff of over 100 highly trained professionals including physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, occupational therapists, athletic trainers, dieticians, personal trainers, and fitness professionals.

HealthWorks Rehab & Fitness would also like to thank friends, customers and all its partners for their well wishes on this happy occasion.
