Manual Therapy Certification
Manual Therapy is a specialized treatment approach that consists of 'hands-on' techniques designed to mobilize joints, muscle, connective tissue and nerves in order to facilitate healing and restore function. It has been shown in numerous studies to be an effective and important component of treatment in a wide range of conditions, such as arthritis, tendinopathy (disease of a tendon) and back pain.
HealthWorks's Outpatient Division offers certification training in manual therapy for its clinicians in markets across the country. These advanced programs are one-to-two-years in duration and consist of extensive hands-on and didactic training and culminate in rigorous competency testing. Successful graduates earn the credential, Certified Orthopaedic Manual Therapist (COMT).
